NFL veteran Aaron Rodgers is still a free agent and has yet to commit to any franchise in the NFL. While he has been heavily rumored to be in talks with the Pittsburgh Steelers, no official final word has come out yet. However, for one star from Baltimore, Rodgers may be the person that the Steelers need to succeed.
In one of the recent episodes of “NFL on ESPN,” Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy expressed his confidence in Aaron Rodgers and his ability to lead should he eventually decide to join the Steelers as a free agent.
“I think this leadership that is voided by the Pittsburgh Steelers is gonna come down to the quarterback position,” Van Noy said. “Aaron Rodgers comes to mind. I think Rodgers comes in. He brings in a different leadership value, and it’s a leadership value I believe they need. They had Russell Wilson, but it didn’t work for them.”
“Rodgers can come in, and he can do the veteran leadership. He can take DK Metcalf and they could do special things. He can take the rookie running back [Kaleb Johnson] and Jaylen Warren under his wing. Get them going a little bit, and then have that camaraderie with the offensive line to really protect him. And they can do something.”
Before joining Pittsburgh, Russell Wilson had a successful career with the Seattle Seahawks, where he won Super Bowl XLVIII, and later played for the Denver Broncos. However, his time with the Steelers was marked by struggles, leading to his release after just one season.

Will Aaron Rodgers Join The Steelers?
Aaron Rodgers remains without a team as he continues to deliberate his future in the NFL, leaving franchises uncertain about his next move. After spending the 2024 season with the New York Jets, Rodgers faced injuries and inconsistent performances, leading to speculation that he might retire or seek a fresh start elsewhere.
The Steelers’ interest in Rodgers stems from their desire for veteran leadership and playoff experience, especially as they navigate a transitional phase in their roster. While Pittsburgh has Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson as backup options, neither has solidified themselves as a long-term solution.

During the 2024-2025 season, Aaron Rodgers posted 3,987 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, completing 67.2% of his passes. He also contributed 215 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns, maintaining a passer rating of 98.4. While his numbers were solid, they fell short of his previous MVP-caliber seasons, fueling speculation about whether he can still perform at an elite level.
