All eyes are on the Chicago Bears this offseason as they get set for the 2024 NFL Draft. Chicago is making headlines because they currently hold the top pick in the draft. Now, a rumored interview could give us a hint as to what the Bears may do with that pick.
Chicago Bears Interviewing Kliff Kingsbury for OC Position
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Chicago Bears are expected to interview Kliff Kingsbury for the offensive coordinator position. Kingsbury was the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals up until the end of the 2022-23 season after getting the position in 2019.
Once he was fired from the Cardinals, he shocked the NFL world by retreating to Thailand. At first, fans speculated that this move meant that Kingsbury was retiring from football. However, three months later, Kingsbury accepted the USC quarterbacks coach position.
What This Means
If Kingsbury does get offered the offensive coordinator position, it could mean that the Bears are heavily interested in QB Caleb Williams. The quarterback played for USC during his college football tenure and is now expected to be the top overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, there is some debate about the Bears keeping their current QB, Justin Fields, and trading the top overall pick for a nice haul. We will have to see if anything develops from these rumors.
