After finishing last in the NFC North division standings with just a 5-12 record and missing the 2025 NFL playoffs, the Chicago Bears are looking to really start making things happen in the Caleb Williams era.
The upcoming NFL draft provides the Bears a chance to add a new weapon to help them get back into playoff contention after missing the boat to the postseason in each of the last four years.
The Bears hold the No. 10 pick in next week’s draft, with still some needs on both sides of the field. Among which is another running back.
Should the Chicago Bears trade up amid Ashton Jeanty buzz?

Chicago has D’Andre Swift but he didn’t really impress in his first year in Windy City. Meanwhile, Boise State Broncos star Ashton Jeanty could be within reach of the Bears in the draft. However, they can improve their chances of drafting him by trading up, a scenario that Cody Benjamin of CBS Sport recently floated.
Chicago could certainly sit tight and aim for the best tight end or pass rusher on the board. With two early second-rounders at their disposal, they’re equipped to move up and make a splash. For Ashton Jeanty, perhaps?
In the 2024 season, the Bears ranked just 24th in the league with 102.0 rushing yards pe game and 26th with only 4.0 yards per carry.
Jeanty, on the other hand, led the nation in rushing yards in 2024 with 2,601 on 374 carries for an incredible average of 7.0 yards per rushing attempt.
