Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears quarterback, was recently interviewed by Esquire magazine, where he spilled plenty of tea about his time under former coach Matt Eberflus. Eberflus was fired by Chicago after a disastrous 2024 NFL season.
The game in late October between the Chicago Bears and the Washington Commanders ended in a disappointing defeat. The Bears eventually lost the game with an 18-15 final score. Apparently, the loss brought down the spirits of the player in the locker room, who eventually stopped trusting in their head coach.
“How he handled it at that time, for that game, was, I think, one of the things that throughout the locker room people talked about and were annoyed by. Right in that moment, you’re angry. . .you’re furious that you lost and you lost in that way.” Caleb Willams said in the interview with Esquire magazine about Matt Eberflus’ coaching.
The defeat against the Washington Commanders was the bitter start of a long losing streak for the Chicago Bears. However, the axe fell on Matt Eberflus’ career with the Bears after he missed calling a timeout during a crucial game with the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. After firing Matt Eberflus in the middle of the season, the Chicago Bears went forward with Thomas Brown, who served as the interim head coach.
When Caleb Williams joined the Chicago Bears as quarterback for the 2024 NFL season, the young quarterback was touted to be the savior of a struggling team. Hopefully, under Ben Johnson’s rigid coaching style, Williams and the rest of the Bears might do better in the upcoming season.

Caleb Williams Gets More Incentive From Tom Brady To Do Better In 2025 NFL Season
It looks like retired NFL player Tom Brady is really rooting for Caleb Williams to do better in the upcoming season. In a video released by Topps, which deals with trading cards, Brady can be seen face-timing Williams and showing him a rare autographed card of the quarterback.

Brady went on to ask Williams if the card’s value would increase after the 2025 NFL season or if its value would decrease.
To this, Williams responded with a resounding “A lot f***ing more!!”

In the 2024 NFL season, Caleb Williams managed to throw for a total of 3,541 yards, scoring 20 touchdowns, while managing six interceptions for the Chicago Bears as their starting quarterback. The team will be undergoing some major transformation under their new head coach, Ben Johnson, with Williams’ performance also expectantly improving.
