As it stands, the New England Patriots could trade KJ Osborn in the coming days. According to an NFL analysis by Bleacher Report, the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers were named as the ideal landing spot for the wide receiver.

Patriots are currently at the center of trade rumors, particularly concerning Osborn, who was a healthy scratch for Week 9. Originally brought in to fill the void left by Kendrick Bourne’s ACL injury, Osborn’s role has diminished significantly due to inconsistent performances and recent public criticism regarding his usage on social media.

Despite his early promise, which included a touchdown against the Jaguars, Osborn’s recent struggles have raised questions about his future with the team. After starting the season strong, his lack of participation in pre-game warm-ups indicates he’s unlikely to take the field again soon. The Patriots, dealing with the challenges of a rookie quarterback and ongoing internal dynamics, appear to be reassessing their roster as the trade deadline approaches.

Given the current circumstances, Osborn emerges as a likely candidate for trade, especially as the Patriots look to make strategic adjustments aimed at boosting their performance. His rapid decline from a promising addition to a potential trade target reflects the volatility within the Patriots’ offense and raises important questions about their long-term strategy moving forward. As the deadline looms, all eyes will be on how the Patriots choose to navigate these challenges.

There’s a chance New England can trade Osborn soon. According to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, the Chargers and Steelers may make a move for the wide receiver.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, who have questionable receiver depth but are otherwise set to make a run, could be in the market for Osborn. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Steelers had a “strong interest” in Davante Adams before he was traded to the Jets.

The Los Angeles Chargers could also use a receiver like Osborn. Injuries and a lack of depth at the receiver position have led to a lackluster offense in L.A. With more punch in the passing game, the 4-3 Chargers could be ready to make some noise in the playoff race.

Osborn has emerged as a prime trade candidate ahead of the 2024 deadline. After joining to fill the void left by Kendrick Bourne’s injury, he has struggled to find his footing, catching just seven passes for 57 yards this season.

With a one-year contract and limited impact, Osborn could be an attractive option for teams in need of depth at wide receiver. As the trade deadline approaches, his potential move could benefit both the Patriots and a receiver-needy contender looking to bolster their offense.
