Baker Mayfield needs to prove himself to Carolina Panthers
Baker Mayfield was traded to the Carolina Panthers Wednesday. Not all Panther players are excited to have Mayfield join. Everyone was expecting Mayfield to be traded when the Cleveland Browns signed Deshaun Watson.
Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson wasn’t thrilled about the possibility of Mayfield joining the club. In April he posted on Instagram “Nooooo” about the potential move.
Anderson’s comments were picked up shortly after. He sent another message to drive the point home that he was having nothing of a Mayfield trade.

Training camp might be awkward for the Panthers
Anderson and Mayfield will be seeing each other soon on the field. Comments like these can hurt a relationship. Anderson claims to have no issue with the move as of Wednesday, per multiple reports. But we’ll see if Anderson gets the Odell Beckham Jr. treatment.
Anderson will come into the season with a lot to prove himself. Last year he only had 519 receiving yards. Quarterback Sam Darnold or Mayfield will need him to be better this year.
The Panthers and Mayfield will hope Anderson was a minority with the sentiment. But if Anderson was brave enough to post about it on social media, you’d think he wasn’t the only one.
