According to Ian Rapoport, Carolina signed Jordan Fuller to a 1-year deal worth up to $5.25 million.
Here’s a quick review of his NFL career and what their starting safeties look like next season (as of now).
He had a solid start to his NFL career.
The Los Angeles Rams drafted Jordan Fuller in the 6th round, 199th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Fuller played in 12 games, starting 12, and had 60 tackles, three interceptions, and five pass deflections in his rookie season. He allowed 32 receptions on 40 targets for 370 yards, three touchdowns, and a 99.0 passer rating. He missed four games because of a shoulder injury.
Fuller played in 16 games, starting 16, and had 113 tackles, one for a loss, one interception, and four pass deflections in his second season. He allowed 42 receptions on 63 targets for 567 yards, two touchdowns, and a 99.1 passer rating. He suffered an ankle injury in Week 18 and missed the postseason.
Fuller played in three games, starting one, and had 12 tackles and one forced fumble in his third season. He allowed five receptions on seven targets for 42 yards and an 86.6 passer rating. He missed the rest of the season because of a hamstring injury.
Fuller played in 17 games, starting 17, and had 94 tackles, one for a loss, three interceptions, eight pass deflections, and three forced fumbles in his fourth season. He allowed 34 receptions on 54 targets for 468 yards, three touchdowns, and an 86.0 passer rating.
Who will be the other starting safety?
Depending on whether Carolina decides to keep or release/trade Xavier Woods, their starting safeties will likely be Fuller and Woods next season.
