The Carolina Panthers have addressed the cornerback position in free agency by trading Donte Jackson to Pittsburgh, re-signing Troy Hill, and signing one from the AFC East.

According to Tom Pelissero, Carolina and Dane Jackson agreed to a 2-year contract worth up to $14.5 million.
Dane Jackson spent the first four seasons with the Buffalo Bills

Buffalo drafted Jackson in the 7th round, 239th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. Jackson has had a decent start to his NFL career, playing in 52 games, starting in 28, and has 152 tackles, three interceptions, 28 pass deflections, and two forced fumbles in four seasons with the team.
Jackson played in five games, starting in 2, and had 15 tackles, one interception, and five pass deflections in 2020. He allowed 13 receptions on 21 targets for 155 yards, two touchdowns, and a 96.3 passer rating.
Jackson played in 17 games, starting in 6, and had 41 tackles and six pass deflections in 2021. He allowed 20 receptions on 40 targets for 254 yards and a 70.2 passer rating. He also had ten tackles in two playoff games.
Jackson played in 15 games, starting in 14, and had 57 tackles, two interceptions, 12 pass deflections, and one forced fumble in 2022. He allowed 46 receptions on 78 targets for 538 yards, three touchdowns, and an 82.1 passer rating. He also had four tackles and one pass deflection in two playoff games.
Jackson played in 15 games, starting in 6, and had 39 tackles, five pass deflections, and one forced fumble in 2023. He allowed 26 receptions on 35 targets for 303 yards, one touchdown, and a 109.6 passer rating. He also had two tackles and four pass deflections in two playoff games.

It’s unclear what their starting cornerbacks will look like next season, as they could sign/trade more in free agency or through the draft.
