Once again, the 49ers win in a big game against a tough opponent. Unfortunately, the joy for San Francisco fans did not last long. After the first possession by San Francisco, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a foot injury and was ruled out of the game. After the 49ers win, head coach, Kyle Shanahan announced Garoppolo will miss the rest of the season with season-ending surgery for his broken foot. Sitting at an 8-4 record, can the 49ers win with Brock Purdy?

49ers Win vs Dolphins
Despite the devastating injury, the 49ers still managed to beat the Miami Dolphins. Purdy had to go into the game during the first quarter when San Francisco was trailing 3-7. On the first drive, Purdy managed to complete a pass to fullback Kyle Juszczyk for the touchdown. The 49ers ended up beating Miami 33-17.
When it comes to Purdy, it was tough for the rookie to go in, but he managed pretty well. In the 49ers win against the Dolphins, the rookie completed 25 out of 37 passes for 210 yards, according to ESPN. He also threw two touchdowns. There was an interception that he threw in the second quarter, but it was when the team went for it on fourth down. While it would have been much better as a completion, it at least pushed the Dolphins’ offense back more, as opposed to if they made the stop.

Overall, it was not the best game, but Purdy and the rest of the San Francisco team managed to get the win against a strong Miami Dolphins team.
Brock Purdy in College
Purdy was drafted as Mr. Irrelevent in the 2022 NFL draft by the 49ers. Purdy was the quarterback for Iowa State for four years and was one of the best the university has ever had. In his four years, he started each season, and all were bowl years.
In the four years, Purdy completed 993 for 12,170 yards and 81 touchdowns, according to Sports Reference. In his senior year, Purdy passed for 3,188 yards for 19 touchdowns. It is safe to say that San Francisco is lucky that they used the final draft pick on the young quarterback.

49ers Win: Remaining Schedule
The next game for San Francisco will be against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sadly, we will not be seeing Tom Brady play his former backup with Garoppolo out for the season. Tampa Bay currently has a 5-6 record and has been struggling. According to ESPN, the Buccs have allowed their opponents to score 192 yards, and rush for 123 yards per game on average. Tampa Bay’s defense is growing stronger, but San Francisco also has a defense that can make big stops. The Buccaneers will face the Saints this Monday before heading to San Francisco next weekend.

Following Tampa Bay, San Francisco will face the Seattle Seahawks, the Washington Commanders, the Las Vegas Raiders, and close out the season against the Arizona Cardinals. After this 49ers win, there still is a chance San Francisco can win the NFC West, but their journey will be a lot harder.
Brock Purdy will have a lot to overcome, but it is too early to make assumptions about the young rookie. Hopefully, the rest of the team will be okay heading into next weekend’s game.
