The Buffalo Bills have released eight-time Pro Bowl defensive end Von Miller, per NFL Network. Miller was scheduled to make $17.5 million in 2025 as part of the six-year $120 million contract he signed with Buffalo three years ago. The move frees up roughly $8.4 million in cap space.

As Tom Pelissero notes above, both Miller and the Bills are open to a reunion in 2025. As the three-time First Team All-Pro will be 36 years old this season, it is likely that whatever deal they may come to will only be for one season.

Miller was originally drafted by the Denver Broncos with the second overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He made an immediate impact, registering 11.5 sacks as a rookie and winning the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award, along with being named to the Pro Bowl and Second Team All-Pro.

In 10 seasons with Denver, Miller was named to the Pro Bowl eight times and was a First Team All-Pro three times. He is one of just a handful of defensive players to be named Super Bowl MVP, which he accomplished when the Broncos won Super Bowl 50.

After missing the entire 2020 season due to an ankle injury, Miller was traded halfway through the 2021 season by the Broncos to the Los Angles Rams. It was with Los Angeles that he won his second Super Bowl ring.

Miller then signed a six-year $120 million contract with the Bills ahead of the 2022 season. In three years with Buffalo, he has registered 14.0 sacks and 17 tackles for loss.

His 129.5 career sacks are the most of any active NFL player and rank 16th all time. He needs just 3.5 more to pass Lawrence Taylor and Leslie O’Neal, both of whom have 132.0 career sacks.
