The Buffalo Bills were trailing 17-3 at the half on the road against the Houston Texans. Buffalo had it tied at 20 in the fourth quarter. With less than 32 seconds remaining in regulation, Josh Allen threw three straight incomplete passes from his three-yard line.
Head coach Sean McDermott received criticism for that. It led to the Bills punting away and then Ka’imi Fairbairn hitting the game-winning 59-yard field goal for the Houston Texans in a 23-20 win for Houston over Buffalo.
Two Straight Losses For the Buffalo Bills After the Houston Texans Game
This was the second straight game that the Bills lost. They lost 35-10 against the Baltimore Ravens last week. This week, this was a game that Buffalo should not have lost. As for the Houston Texans, they improve to 4-1 on the season.
The Buffalo Bills will face the New York Jets next Monday night for first place on the line in the AFC East. Buffalo appears to be in an interesting shape for now.
Fans Call For Sean McDermott To Be Fired
After the game was over, Bills fans were calling for McDermott to be fired. He won’t be fired now, but if they were somehow not to make the playoffs this season, then this conversation should be brought back. There is still a lot of games to be played this season. Even if they were to win the division, they would not be going far in the playoffs with McDermott as head coach. There have been some critics of him. They have not been to the AFC Championship Game in a few years. Many wonder if he could be the coach that gets Josh Allen and this team to a Super Bowl.
