Shedeur Sanders, one of the Cleveland Browns’ rookie quarterbacks, has expressed a positive outlook on his teammate and fellow rookie, Dillon Gabriel. Despite the competition for the starting quarterback role, Sanders highlighted their mutual respect and collaborative mindset, emphasizing their shared goal of improvement.

Both Sanders and Gabriel entered the NFL with high expectations after stellar college careers. Gabriel, drafted earlier in the third round, had a standout season with Oregon, while Sanders, selected in the fifth round, led Colorado to a strong finish. Their addition to the Browns has intensified the quarterback room, which also includes veterans like Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett.

Sanders described Gabriel as a composed and supportive teammate, noting his ability to handle adversity with optimism. While the competition for the starting spot remains fierce, both players have taken a collaborative approach, learning from each other and the more experienced quarterbacks in the group. This dynamic has fostered a productive atmosphere during rookie minicamp.

Gabriel, in turn, praised Sanders for his work ethic and willingness to embrace the challenges of entering the NFL. Both rookies understand the importance of adapting to the professional level and leveraging their unique skill sets to add value to the team. Their camaraderie reflects a maturity that could enhance the overall chemistry in Cleveland’s quarterback room.

Even though the circumstances haven’t been favorable to his relationship to Gabriel, Sanders still dropped a cool take on their relationship. This can be seen in an article done by DJ Siddiqi for Sports Casting.

“Everything’s been cool,” Sanders told SportsCasting on behalf of his partnership with Panini. “He’s a cool person. I like how he handles situations, especially just the negative media that’s coming his way. I’m just happy he’s positive, he’s able to handle everything. We’re truly cool.”

As the Browns prepare for the 2025 season, the competition between Sanders and Gabriel continues to draw attention. While projections favor Gabriel’s immediate impact, Sanders’ adaptability and leadership could offer surprises as the season progresses. Both rookies have an opportunity to earn trust and prove themselves on the field.

The positive relationship between Sanders and Gabriel underscores their shared commitment to growth and success. Regardless of who secures the starting role, their collaboration sets a strong foundation for the Browns’ future.
