Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers are expected to have a very different year from the previous NFL season according to several analysts, especially after making some pretty big offseason moves. However, while many analysts predict the 49ers to simply tank in the upcoming football season, others like Joy Taylor are expecting the team to do much better.
On Fox Sports ‘Speak’, which she co-hosts with Keyshawn Johnson and Paul Pierce, Taylor reiterated this thought and also remarked how her opinions irked many NFL fans who felt otherwise about the San Francisco 49ers.
“I think we’re writing the Niners off a little too soon. I think they’re going to look very different this year. Which apparently offended everyone. I don’t know, I can’t keep up. Brock Purdy was termed Mr. Irrelevant after being the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft. However, since then, the quarterback has quickly turned opinions around and has become one of the best starting quarterbacks that the 49ers have. Purdy also recently signed a massive contract extension with the team, which goes to show just how much San Francisco considers him a long-term investment.
The San Francisco 49ers did okay-ish in the previous NFL season, but definitely have plenty of room for improvement. The team has been pretty busy during their offseason, making changes to ensure a stronger performance in this football season.
Brock Purdy Still Has Lots To Learn In One Important Aspect
While Brock Purdy has proven himself time and time again to be a worthy starting quarterback with the San Francisco 49ers, there is an elephant in the room almost all NFL pundits are talking about when it comes to his performance. Reviewing the previous performances of Purdy, it is clear that the QB clearly has an issue in getting ahead when his team is lagging behind.
According to NFL analysts, Purdy needs to make a serious improvement in this area, especially if he aims to churn out better scores for the 49ers in the upcoming season. In the 2025 NFL season, Purdy managed 20 touchdowns for the 49ers for a total of 3,864 yards. Fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that their hero has worked on this particular area during the team’s training camps.
