    Brock Purdy’s Story

    Brock Purdy’s successful season came crashing down in the 49er’s 31-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Brock Purdy injured his UCL during the game. According to NFL Reporter Tom Pelissoro Purdy will undergo surgery and is estimated to be out for six to nine months. Tommy John surgery is also an option for Brock Purdy, depending on the severity of the injury.

    Despite suffering a tough injury in the playoffs Brock Purdy’s rise to prominence should be respected. The NFL is a tough business, and some athletes have to wait for their time to shine. Brock Purdy was granted an opportunity and ran with it.

    Brock Purdy Steps Up 

    Brock Purdy was the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft. Brock Purdy was never supposed to set foot on the gridiron. Trey Lance started the season and injured his ankle early in the season. Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a foot injury against the Miami Dolphins. Brock Purdy took over and never looked back.

    Brock Purdy played well during the last quarter of the season. Brock Purdy passed for 1,374 yards, threw 13 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. Purdy started six games and won all of them. Despite being drafted late, Mr. Irrelevant showed his talent and made impressive throws. Purdy also operated Kyle Shanahan’s offense and helped the offense score points. Purdy improvised when plays would break down and found open receivers. Brock Purdy helped the 49ers beat the Dallas Cowboys during the divisional round of the playoffs. Purdy was the talk of the town at the end of the season.

    Brock Purdy’s Background

    Brock Purdy was a 3-star athlete in high school and was a talented quarterback at Perry High School in Arizona. Purdy passed for 4,410 yards during the 2017 season. Purdy also won the Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year in 2017. Purdy spent 4 years at Iowa State and played a lot of games. While at Iowa State Purdy completed 993 passes, passed for 12,170 yards, threw 81 touchdowns, and 33 interceptions. Purdy was the man at Iowa State and helped improve Iowa State’s football program. Purdy won 30 games at Iowa State which made him the winningest quarterback in Iowa State history. Purdy led Iowa State to four bowl games.

    Brock Purdy’s Future 

    Who would have thought Mr. Irrelevant would be talked about by fans, analysts, and reporters? Brock Purdy’s first order of business is to get healthy. Health is a priority for Purdy since he injured his UCL. Purdy will compete with Trey Lance for the starting quarterback spot for the 2023 season. Purdy has an opportunity to cement his name in the NFL at the quarterback position. Purdy showed the traits you want out of a starter in the league. If Purdy comes back strong and healthy, he can be the 49ers’ starter for years to come.
