Thursday morning, the Los Angeles Rams added a veteran quarterback to the 53-man roster. The Rams needed to add a QB2 to the soter after placing rookie quarterback Stetson Bennett on the NFI/reserve list.
Head coach Sean McVay declined to get into the specifics of Bennett’s placement on the list. However, the Rams will be without Bennett for at least the next four games. The Rams need to make a few roster moves at quarterback, with Bennett being gone for that long.

Rypien has been in the league since the Denver Broncos initially signed him as a UDFA in 2019. He spent four seasons in Denver before the Rams signed him in May.
Rypien has played in eight games and started in three during his NFL career. He’s gone 80/113 passing with 788 yards, four touchdowns to eight interceptions.
The Rams will need to find another quarterback to place on the practice squad now that Rypien has been promoted.
