BREAKING: Supported Rumors Circle Twitter on Aaron Rodgers Becoming Jets’ QB Coach Following Week 1 Injury

After going down with a season-ending injury in week one, Jets’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers is rumored to possibly be the next quarterbacks coach for New York. This would be huge as new starter Zach Wilson could use the help of a veteran player to take him to an unprecedented level. Multiple credible sources on Twitter are confirming that this is a real possibility, saying that Jets’ head coach Robert Saleh has already been rumored to not have a problem with the pitch.

According to Zack Rosenblatt, who covers the Jets via The Athletic, this is the comment that the New York Jets head coach made about the possibility of Rodgers becoming the quarterback’s coach for the team at some point, sending the NFL world into a frenzy.

    Aaron Rodgers’ Impact on Wilson

It looks like the Jets are going to roll with Zach Wilson for the remainder of the season, so this would be a tremendous boost to Wilson and the Jets’ offense if the rumors are indeed true. Wilson, in week one, had a QBR of 22.6, along with 140 passing yards and a touchdown, and this, of course, comes after Aaron Rodgers went out of the game.  With stats like this being his regular game-by-game statistics, the addition of Rodgers as the quarterbacks coach for the Jets would help Wilson reach his full potential.

This video from ESPN’s “Peyton and Eli” covering Monday night’s game shows just how much fans and former players believe Wilson needs to improve his game before it becomes a disaster for the Jets this season.

It is very obvious that the Jets are doomed if Zach Wilson does not step up his game this season. The Jets’ receiving corps will suffer as well, with players like Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman, and Randall Cobb coming to New York specifically to be a Super Bowl Contender with Aaron Rodgers. It’s safe to say that Wilson will be heavily criticized every game he plays in, and has the possibility of being taken out if he does not perform at a high level.

    Week 2 Outlook

The Jets will travel to The Lone Star State in week two, facing a tough opponent in the Dallas Cowboys. Arguably, one of the biggest storylines for this upcoming week is how Wilson and the Jets offense will respond after their star quarterback went down for the season. If Zach Wilson does not play well, this rumor of Rodgers becoming the quarterback’s coach for the Jets can gain some serious momentum in the mainstream media.
