Ohio State can’t land every player in the 2025 class, and on Friday afternoon, they lost out on one of the best running backs.
The Buckeyes are rolling in the recruiting trail for 2025 and are even attacking the running back position very well, landing the third-best player in the class, Bo Jackson, and 13th, Isaiah West, according to 247sport.com
Ohio State Loses Out On Jordon Davison
Ohio State had a chance to land the 12th best running back in 2025, Jordon Davison, and there were reports and rumors that they would land the star player, but on Friday, he decided to commit to Oregon, which will be new members of the Big Ten this season.
According to Hayes Fawcett from On3.com, Davison chooses the Ducks over Ohio State, Michigan, and Alabama. Davison attends Mater Dei High School in California, and if the school sounds familiar, it’s probably because former Alabama and current Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young attended high school there.

The 5-foot-11, 220-pounder is the 199th overall player in the 2025 class, according to 247sports.com, and should play a significant role for Oregon by 2026 or 2027.
Even though the Buckeyes didn’t land the star running back, they should not be disappointed. They have two fantastic backs already committed to them in the class, and right now, they have the number one recruiting class in 2025
