Ohio State recruiting continues to press forward this summer, adding a solid running back prospect to their 2025 recruiting class. Four-star running back Isaiah West of St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania committed to The Ohio State University earlier today. This is the second highly touted prospect that new running back coach Carlos Locklyn was able to land in his short time with the Buckeyes.

Isaiah West Brings Explosiveness to Ohio State
Isaiah West is a strong explosive running back with impressive athletic skills. Measuring in at 5’11 208 pounds, West is the prototypical size for a Big 10 running back. West recorded a 34-inch vertical, 10-foot broad jump, and also squats 500 pounds.
Isaiah West often displays the ability to break tackles when he gets to the second line of defense. With his size and explosion, West can be a great change of pace back and truly challenge defenses with gashing first down runs.
Future of Ohio State Running Backs
Isaiah West joins Bo Jackson as the two running back commits for Ohio State’s 2025 class. The two backs complement each other well and could be a great combination for the Buckeyes in the future. The Buckeyes also have more pending offers, but with two backs already committed it is not likely another back will commit.
Ohio State has not received a commitment in the 2026 class but has nine pending offers. The Buckeyes also have offered four running backs in the 2027 class.
