Per a recent NFL report, we now have an understanding as to why the Carolina Panthers vice president of player personnel quietly left the team. Adrian Wilson is no longer with the team, and it seems to be related to the fact that he was recently arrested on three charges of domestic violence.
Adrian Wilson Arrested And Quietly Leaves Carolina Panthers
Per the Scottsdale Police Department, Wilson was arrested and posted bond on June 1st after the three charges of domestic violence. He was also charged with damaging property and disorderly conduct.
The Panthers ended up confirming just a few days ago that Wilson is no longer with the team anymore and not a part of the front office. This happened quietly a month after Wilson posted bond.
“Adrian Wilson will not continue in his position as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers,” a team spokesperson told Pro Football Talk. “Consistent with our organizational policy on employee matters, we will have no further comment.”
While the announcement did not include any reasons as to why Wilson will no longer be with the team, it is safe to assume that his arrest had something to do with it.
Wilson is a former player himself, and a former All Pro in the NFL. He had quite a career from 2001-2014 spending the bulk of his career with the Arizona Cardinals. He spent the first few years of his second NFL career as a regional scout and then became the director of pro scouting for the Cardinals back in 2019. This culminated with the promotion to vice president for the team.
Wilson had an interview for the New York Jets to become their general manager, but that ended up not working out and he ended up becoming the vice president of player of personal in Carolina.
Wilson’s career is now obviously in jeopardy and he has a court date set for July 16th. We do not know if he will ever get another chance in the league again. Now, the courts will hopefully get to the bottom of things and justice will be served.
There have now been new disturbing details to emerge from the arrest, and they are shocking!
