The six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, Davante Adams, joins the Los Angeles Rams on a two-year, $46 million deal, immediately adding an elite offensive weapon. Adams was cut by the New York Jets last week for what proved to be a short-lived time in New York.

Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams were supposed to spark new life with the Jets, but the pair never really clicked again into the old glory. Davante Adams caught 854 receiving yards and scored seven touchdowns in 11 games with New York, but he could not aid the struggling Jets offense. With the team under new management, both Adams and Rodgers were cut after the franchise hit the reset button in the offseason.
Davante Adams New Chapter
Now Adams is heading west to join a Rams team featuring star wideout Puka Nacua and a veteran quarterback in Matthew Stafford. It also means the Rams are on track for another playoff push, having reached the divisional round a year ago. Since Adams is as good at route running and contested catching as he is, they should have one of the best receiving duos in the NFL with Stafford chucking them the ball.
Adams’s arrival in Los Angeles could also serve as the final act for another Rams legend. Reportedly, a key piece of the team’s offense since the 2021 season is on the trade block: Cooper Kupp. If Kupp is moved, Adams will fill the role of the team’s main veteran versus Nacua.
At 32, Adams may not have top speed but he is still one of the most polished route runners in the league and a threat in the red zone. It should follow that Sean McVay’s offense capitalizes on protecting the ball and rolling out receivers to set up the play, which means that Adams’ ability to win one-on-one should make him a perfect fit.

This is a perfect scenario for Adams to head out West and sign a lucrative contract. For Davante Adams, however, this will be his prime opportunity to add to the impressive career he is writing, with the Rams having another playoff push in the cards.
