Bill Belichick made his pick for the best offense in the NFL this season, and almost no one would disagree. Belichick has had to go up against some of the best offenses of all time, and he knows a thing or two about what it takes to stop elite offenses.
He had glowing remarks about the Detroit Lions offense, and he even went on to say that he would not know how to stop them if he were coaching today.
Bill Belichick Breaks Down Detroit Lions Offense
Bill went on his weekly appearance on the Let’s Go Podcast where he spoke with the Lions starting quarterback and MVP candidate Jared Goff about how good their offense is, and how he may think about stopping them.
Bill expressed how he would try to stop their offense, but he admitted that this offense led by Goff is nearly impossible to stop:
Belichick to Goff: "It's impossible, I think, for a defense to really stop the [@Lions] offense." #OnePride 🔥🔥 @JaredGoff16 joins Bill and @JimGrayOfficial on this week's all-new "Let's Go!"

This offense really is stacked everywhere at every position and for the smartest and greatest defensive mind to say, “It’s impossible to stop you,” is probably the greatest compliment an offense can have. The Lions are the clear favorite at the moment to make it out of the NFC and represent the conference in the Super Bowl, and it is hard to imagine them getting taken down by any other NFC team.
Belichick highlighted that the only he could imagine stopping them is by making them take long drives every time, and try to limit any big plays to keep your team in the game down the stretch.

Bill is not the only legend who loves this Lions’ offense, as his former quarterback Tom Brady is also a big fan! When Brady was calling their game, he said:
“I’d love to be the quarterback of this offense”
Both Brady and Belichick are clearly huge fans of this offense, and how could you not be? They have been touching every defense they face, and it looks like they keep getting better as the weeks go on.
It may be Detroit’s year to take home the ultimate prize, and Goff should certainly be considered for the MVP award. While many offenses and quarterbacks have been brutally struggling, the Lions’ offense looks unstoppable.
