Week 4 has some key primetime head-to-head matchups. In this piece I will be previewing the four best matchups in week 4 of the NFL.
1.) Dolphins vs Bengals
Tua Tagovailoa vs Joe Burrow. Tyreek Hill & Jaylen Waddle vs Ja’Marr Chase & Tee Higgins. What else could you ask for in a primetime Thursday Night matchup? This will be the first time these two quarterbacks matchup since their collegiate careers at Alabama and LSU respectively. The speed in this game will be hard to keep up with and the storylines of Burrow and Tua will be intriguing.
2.) Bills vs Ravens
Two MVP candidates in Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen going head-to-head will be must-watch TV. Both these teams are two of the premier teams in a crowded AFC and will look to make a statement. The Ravens and Jackson were unable to come to an agreement this offseason with Jackson’s contract. Jackson is proving his value already with 12 touchdowns this season. Allen and the Bills offense look near unstoppable with the Ravens secondary leaking. This will be the marquee game in the noon timeslot.
3.) Chiefs vs Buccaneers
This Sunday Night Football matchup features two teams coming off ugly losses. The Chiefs lost 20-17 to the Colts. Chiefs only averaged 2.5 yards per carry and had key mishaps. The Buccaneers only scored one touchdown in a 14-12 loss to the Packers. The Bucs were dealing with a slew of injuries to their receivers but will be getting Mike Evans back. Mahomes vs Brady is always a duel and look for this game to be the game of the weekend.
4.) Rams vs 49ers
The 49ers have had this game circled on their calendar. These teams previously faced off in the 2021 NFC Championship game with the Rams coming out on top, and eventually winning the Super Bowl. 49ers quarterback Trey Lance suffered a season-ending injury in Week 2, but backup Jimmy Garoppolo is more than capable to lead this team as he did last season. The Rams have not looked like the 2021 Rams, with their offense looking stagnant at times. Stafford seems to only rely on Cooper Kupp and will need to get his other receivers involved. This will be a close hard fought must watch battle.
