For much of the 2023 season, many in the NFL believed the Baltimore Ravens would return to the Super Bowl.
Things aren’t so peachy at the M&T Bank Stadium after their disappointing defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs. Criticism towards Lamar Jackson is at an all-time high, and even one of his teammates’ parent is putting the loss squarely on his shoulders.
Jackson is painting a different picture when it comes to the mood in the locker room. If it’s anything to go by, the team will be roaring to do it all over again next year.Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson: We’re ‘angry’ over loss
Jackson is among the people interviewed after the loss to get his thoughts on the game. Everyone wants to know what’s running through his mind after the Baltimore Ravens came up short for Super Bowl LVIII.
ClutchPoints’ Jackson Stone reports that Jackson and co are determined to right the wrongs for themselves and their fans:
“We fell short,” said the Ravens star, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN on X, the social media platform formerly referred to as Twitter. “Like I said, offensively, we didn’t put nothing on the board. We scored once. That’s not like us. If we throw the ball down the field, that’s cool, but we’ve got to put points on the board. I feel like my team is angry, you know? Not frustrated, but angry. We know how hard we worked to get here.
“I’m angry about losing. We were a game away from the Super Bowl. We’ve been waiting all this time, all these moments, for an opportunity like this, and we fell short. But I feel like our team, we’re going to build.”
Jackson wasn’t able to do much under center. While he managed to complete 20 passes for 272 yards and a touchdown, he did throw a pick to Deon Bush. Moreover, the team wasn’t able to put up any more points after their first-quarter score.
The Baltimore Ravens will be licking their wounds and look to do it all over again come September. They will be hopeful to make Super Bowl LIX with the changes they’ll make in the offseason.
