The Commanders finished with the worst record in the NFC East but they are not in a bad position. The team, led by Sophomore QB Sam Howell had flashes of greatness offensively. On Sunday, the Cowboys hosted the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card Round. This game went about as badly for Dallas as they could have imagined. The Packers were quickly off to a hot start scoring back to back touchdowns. At Halftime, it was 27-7 and while Dallas had hope, the hope quickly faded. The Cowboys outscored and outplayed the Packers in the second half but it was a story of too little, too late for Dallas. The division performed well enough in the regular season for two teams to make it to the postseason. Both the Cowboys and Eagles were considered heavy contenders for most of the regular season. However, their postseasons were short lived as they both fell embarrassingly. The Cowboys and Dak Prescott were down as much as 32 points on Sunday afternoon to the 9-8 Green Bay Packers. The Chiefs hosted the Dolphins in the first round of the Wild Card on Saturday. The game started with a Chiefs score and ended with many more Chiefs scores. The final nail in the coffin for the Dolphins was on 3rd and 20 when Wilkins roughed Patrick Mahomes late and an automatic first down was given to the Chiefs who were barely in field goal range prior to the penalty. The Atlanta Falcons came up short of the postseason once again. The team has invested many of their early draft picks on talented skill position players. The issue is that the Falcons do not use these players how they should be utilized. The offense has been hard to watch at times as former top 5 overall pick, Kyle Pitts, would be left open and still wouldn’t get thrown the ball. It’s no question that the Cowboys are all in on this Super Bowl run. The team expects to lose it’s defensive coordinator to a head coaching job in the offseason. Dan Quinn was a head coach for the Atlanta Falcons and brought them to a Super Bowl. The Carolina Panthers had a disappointing season to say the least. The team made a splash prior to the 2023 draft, trading their first round picks in 23 and 24, along with star receiver D.J. The New Orleans Saints finished just short of the playoffs. The division altogether did not perform well but three teams all had a shot at the division in week 18. On Sunday, the Rams took down Sam Darnold and the 49ers. This game was a battle of backups for the most part that saw San Fransisco in the lead for majority of the game.
