Jimmy DeRogatis has a BA in Journalism from the accredited San Francisco State University (SFSU) and a Sociology minor. Jimmy is currently the social media and marketing associate working with Rutgers University Athletics. Jimmy has recently completed contract work as a sports reporter for the Coast Star, Inc. in New Jersey. Previously, he was the sports editor for both the Adams Publishing Group and the Eldora Herald-Ledger in Central Iowa covering all local sports for BCLUW, South Hardin, and AGWSR High Schools as well as D1 colleges. Jimmy has also worked as the beat sports reporter for the Martinez Tribune, covering college D1 bowl games (including media day) and professional baseball (Oakland A’s & San Francisco Giants). In addition, he has conducted many interviews with professional baseball players and coaches, including All-Stars Albert Pujols, Mike Trout, and pitching coach guru Rick Peterson. When attending SFSU, Jimmy had double duty as both the sports editor and a sports reporter for the online & print SFSU Golden Gate Xpress newspaper. Jimmy has also worked for the Oakland A’s and the San Francisco Giants in their front office sales and promotions departments. Jimmy is also a member of the National Sports Media Association and a former member of the SFSU Journalism Dept. Student/Faculty board.
