Two top quarterbacks in the upcoming draft class played for the Oklahoma football program. However, neither 2022 Heisman Trophy Winner Caleb Williams nor South Carolina Gamecocks product Spencer Rattler spent long donning the crimson and cream. Williams and Rattler, each top prospect in their respective classes, started with the Sooners before transferring. The two gunslingers did, however, spend the 2021 season together, with Williams eventually usurping Rattler for the starting role. Fresh off an uber-efficient 2020 season, Rattler struggled to improve the following year, with Williams eventually taking over as the team’s leading signal-caller. Williams never looked back, helping lead…

Coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado football team have made headlines this week after a wave of players entered the transfer portal during the spring window. Sanders downplayed the amount of talent leaving the program, believing the talent incoming outweighed the talent vacating. Among those players transferring out of Boulder, Colorado, was former five-star corner prospect Cormani McClain. However, McClain’s departure did not occur without drama, with the talented defensive back joining a Twitter (also known as X) “spaces” chat and claiming Sanders and the Buffs drove him towards the transfer portal. McClain continued to take subtle shots at Colorado…

The Oklahoma football program hosted its annual spring game on Saturday, wrapping up another portion of the offseason as the team continues to march towards its first season of SEC play. Last season, the Sooners had a double-digit winning campaign, their first under head coach Brent Venables. This season, they will look to build on that success and make a strong debut in their new conference. The Sooners will also have a new-look offense, with quarterback Dillon Gabriel, wideout Drake Stoops, and offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby no longer with the program. However, Venables and company have an answer at quarterback:…

The Texas football program is fresh off an epic College Football Playoff berth, its first in school history. Texas played the undefeated Washington Huskies, formerly of the Pac-12, in the Sugar Bowl, falling in heartbreaking fashion, 37-31. However, Texas made massive strides from the previous year, with a three-win increase in conference play and posting top-15 averages in points per game scored and the fewest points allowed.  Head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns have CFP aspirations again in 2024, especially with the expanded postseason format. Additionally, they will return quarterback Quinn Ewers for another season. However, despite the Heisman…

On Thursday, the ASU football program said goodbye to Jaden Rashada, a former five-star recruit and last season’s starting quarterback, as he entered the transfer portal. Rashada, who flipped from the Florida Gators to the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2023, played in four games as a true freshman, tallying 485 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions. However, ASU lost another top-end talent on Friday who happened to have much more on-the-field success than Rashada. According to Chris Karpman of 247Sports, Sun Devils leading wide receiver Elijhah Badger will enter the transfer portal. Per Karpman, Alabama football and the Texas A&M…

The transfer portal has become a way of life for every team in America, including the juggernaut Alabama football program. With fewer rules than ever regarding the portal and player compensation through name, image, and likeness (NIL), college athletes don’t feel obligated to stay at one school, even the Alabama Crimson Tide.  On the heels of longtime head coach Nick Saban retiring after 17 seasons and six national titles, the Crimson Tide lost a wave of players to the transfer portal. However, newly hired frontman Kalen DeBoer is trying his best to combat the portal. DeBoer led the Washington Huskies…

The Oklahoma football program, under first-year head coach Brent Venables, got off to a rough start, posting a 6-7 record in 2022. The Sooners finished the season with their worst record since 1998, snapping a quarter-century run of winning football in Norman, Oklahoma. OU became accustomed to winning, making 17 New Year’s Six bowl games from 2000 to 2021, but had fallen on unprecedented shortcomings in 2022.  However, that didn’t stop Venables and the Sooners from landing an elite recruiting class and finishing 2023 with double-digit wins. One of their top signees from the class of 2023, safety Peyton Bowen,…
