The Pac 12, ACC, SEC, and Big 10 have combined for a 8-6 record in the 2023-24 bowl season, while the Big 12 is sitting at 5-2, with one of their losses being Oklahoma losing to Arizona. Iowa State and Memphis will square off on Friday, December 29th, in the Liberty Bowl. The Liberty Bowl is home to the Memphis Tigers, making this game a de-facto home game for the Tigers. We are less than a week away from bowl game season being essentially over and entering the long off-season. This bowl season has flown by, especially since Christmas, and it’s crazy to think that there are only 36 teams left to play games. This bowl season has taught us a lot so far. Oklahoma State star running back Ollie Gordon has just shocked the college football world. In a world of NIL and the transfer portal, great players who play for teams outside of the traditional true bluebloods tend to seek money and opportunity at a school where they can get paid more and be featured more on TV. If you’ve followed North Carolina or West Virginia Football this year, you’d find it very ironic that these two squads are meeting in a bowl game.
