There’s no doubt Marvin Harrison Jr. has been quite good for the Arizona Cardinals during the short time he has played in his first year in the league. As it stands, the wide receiver is placed near the top of the latest rookie ranking after Week 2.
Harrison had a standout performance in Week 2 for the Arizona Cardinals, bouncing back after a disappointing debut. Following a lackluster showing in the season opener, where he caught only one pass for four yards, he made an immediate impact against the Los Angeles Rams, recording four receptions for 130 yards, all in the first quarter.

This game marked a significant turning point for both Harrison and the team. His first professional touchdown came on an impressive 23-yard catch that showcased his ability to create separation from defenders. The second touchdown highlighted his agility and awareness, as he adjusted his route to connect with quarterback Kyler Murray, who displayed exceptional playmaking skills.
The Cardinals’ victory was crucial, restoring hope within the organization after starting the season with a loss. The team’s offensive performance was balanced and explosive, racking up a total of 489 yards. Murray played a pivotal role, completing 17 of 21 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns, demonstrating his command of the offense.
Arizona Cardinals’ Marvin Harrison Jr. Places Fourth Among NFL Rookies After Week 2

Harrison’s Week 2 performance has placed the wide receiver in the top five of the rookie rankings. This can be seen in an NFL analysis by Brent Sobleski for Bleacher Report.
“After an underwhelming and, frankly, disappointing debut, Harrison looked the part of a monstrous talent capable of electrifying the Arizona Cardinals offense. Harrison had himself a day in one quarter of play.
The Cardinals made sure to integrate this year’s fourth overall pick into the offense as a primary target. He responded with four receptions for 130 yards and two touchdowns as Arizona ran away from the rival Los Angeles Rams.
In doing so, he became the first rookie wide receiver with at least four catches and two touches in the opening frame since his father achieved the same feat 28 years earlier. MHJ also graded as the weekend’s best wide receiver, per Pro Football Focus,” Sobleski wrote.
Defensively, the Cardinals also stepped up, limiting the Rams to just 245 yards. This comprehensive team effort underscored the potential for growth as the season progresses. Harrison’s chemistry with Murray is expected to improve as they continue to play together, indicating that the rookie receiver’s breakout performance could be just the beginning.

Overall, this game not only rejuvenated Harrison’s confidence but also provided a much-needed boost for the entire Cardinals organization, setting a positive tone for the weeks ahead. At the same time, his performance has boosted the rookie’s stock in the league, making him a promising player to look out for.
