The Arizona Cardinals will play their final two games of the season without their top receiver at the disposal of franchise quarterback Kyler Murray. Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, head coach Jonathan Gannon announced wide receiver Hollywood Brown will head to the injured reserve (IR), ending his 2023 season.
#AZCardinals coach Jonathan Gannon said Hollywood Brown will go on Injured Reserve with a heel injury that he's battled through most of the year.

Brown last registered a target in early December, exiting Week 13 with a heel injury. He returned in Week 15 but left again early with the same issue. Brown did not practice during Week 16 or 17 prep.
Arizona Cardinals WR Hollywood Brown: Down Second Season with Red Birds
The Arizona Cardinals traded for Hollywood Brown in 2022 to pair the speedster with former first-overall pick and quarterback Kyler Murray. Brown posted solid numbers in 2022, catching 67 passes for 709 yards and three scores despite missing five games. His 69.1 receiving yards per game trailed just his final season with the Baltimore Ravens. However, the Oklahoma product struggled in 2023, especially with Murray missing the first half of the season recovering from a torn ACL.
Brown finishes the season with career lows in receiving yardage total and receiving yards per game. Brown surpassed just 50 yards receiving once since Week 6.

Arizona Cardinals: Poor First Season Under New HC Jonathan Gannon
The Cardinals enter Week 17 with a 3-12 record, the second-worst mark in the NFL, trailing just the two-win Carolina Panthers. The Cardinals hired former Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon to spearhead a new era in 2023. Still, a lackluster roster and the absence of Kyler Murray to begin the year resulted in poor results. However, despite an insufficient record entering the last few weeks of the season, the Red Birds beat the Dallas Cowboys in late September for one of the most shocking wins of the NFL year.
