The Arizona Cardinals have made it a mission to improve their interior defensive line after injuries derailed the position last season as two starters missed most of the year. Justin Jones missed their final 14 games with a triceps injury, and Bilal Nichols missed their last 11 with a stinger. To address their needs, the Cardinals re-signed L.J. Collier and signed Dalvin Tomlinson.

The front office isn’t done adding talent to their D-line.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Cardinals signed Calais Campbell to a one-year, $5.5 million deal worth up to $7.5 million. The former 50th overall pick from the 2008 NFL Draft returns to Arizona after spending the last eight years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens, Atlanta Falcons, and Miami Dolphins.

    It’s a 1-year, $5.5M deal with a max value of $7.5M, source says. https://t.co/YDlRfyiRkJ

Calais Campbell had a great 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins and didn’t show any signs of decline, even at the age of 38. Campbell recorded 52 tackles, 12 TFLs, 12 QB hits, and five sacks in 17 starts. He also posted 31 run stops, a 15.9% run stop rate, 39 pressures, and a 10.8% pass rush win rate, ranking 7th in run stops, 1st in run stop rate, 24th in pressures, and 18th in pass rush win rate among qualified defensive lineman with a minimum of 50% of snaps.
