A college football team made an interesting move to fire a head coach Sunday while their team is still in contention to win a conference championship. Sunday has seen a few notable coaching changes here in mid-November.
Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher was fired Sunday after six seasons in College Station. Penn State fired their offensive coordinator after a lackluster performance against Michigan Saturday.
Bosie State fired their college football coach
According to Pete Thamel with ESPN, Bosie State decided to fire head coach Andy Avalos after a 5-5 start to the season.

Avalos finished his tenure with the Broncos 22-14 after he took over the coaching job in 2021.
The timing of the change comes as the Broncos are in the hunt for the Mountain West Conference championship. Bosie State is one game back from the top spot in the conference, as they are 4-2 in the Mountain West.
Per Thamel, defensive coordinator Spencer Danielson will be the Broncos’ interim head coach.
