As the NFL trade deadline comes to a close, let’s look over all the players that were traded and who are the biggest winners of this year’s trades. In previous seasons there has been a lot of hype surrounding the trade deadline and in most seasons nothing too crazy goes down. This year there was major movement for the receivers and clear winners at the end of the trade deadline.

Davante Adams (Raiders to Jets), Amari Cooper (Browns to Bills), DeAndre Hopkins (Titans to Chiefs) and Diontae Johnson (Panthers to Ravens) were all traded prior to today. This morning, the Dallas Cowboys acquired wideout Jonathan Mingo from Carolina, while the Steelers added the aforementioned Williams in a trade with the Jets.
Unsurprisingly, several teams sought out pass-rushing talent, leading to trades for players like Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith, Josh Uche, and Baron Browning. A mix of other positions also saw movement, with multiple running backs, cornerbacks, linebackers, and defensive linemen being dealt, along with starting left tackle Cam Robinson. Now, as we move into the second half of the NFL season, the big question persists: who, if anyone, can take down Kansas City?
It’s quite interesting that the two biggest winners from the trade deadline are arguably the two best teams in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions. The Chiefs were able to fill a huge need at receiver and another solid pass rusher. The two-time defending champions are undefeated and they are the biggest winners of the trade deadline.
