Texas and college football fans are claiming there was a conspiracy by the SEC to rig Alabama’s 27-24 win over Georgia Saturday afternoon. The SEC championship win allowed the 12-1 Crimson Tide to argue they belong in the playoffs.
A Crimson Tide ticket to the playoffs could wind up knocking Texas out. If Florida State and Michigan win their conference championship games, they will join Washington as undefeated Power 5 teams that won their respective conferences.
Texas, who won the Big 12 Championship, has an argument to get in regardless of the SEC Championship outcome because they beat the Crimson Tide on the road by a 34-24 score. But will the playoff committee consider that after the Crimson Tide knocked off the back-to-back National Championship Georgia program?
Georgia was called flagged five times for 56 yards. Alabama was flagged three times for 36 yards.
But the most controversial call of the game came on a fourth down conversion on a first-half catch by Crimson Tide receiver Isaiah Bond. Television replay of the play appears to show the ball hitting the turf and moving before Bond had possession.
This was ruled a catch by Isaiah Bond on 4th down without a review…Alabama turned it into a TD to go up 10 #SECChampionship pic.twitter.com/Uplv3aCT9v

The SEC officiating crew didn’t review the call, and a few plays later, the Crimson Tide scored a touchdown to go up 17-7.
College football fans claimed the SEC rigged the game
Many college fans think the game was rigged in favor of the Crimson Tide. Some Texas fans think the SEC was trying to give their conference the best chance to have two teams in by the committee putting in the Crimson Tide and Georgia.
Here are the best takes of fans calling the SEC Championship Game rigged.
The SEC rigged this game in an attempt to get two teams into the playoff.
The CFP shouldn't reward it.
Further, Texas is a 12-1 conference champ with a head to head win over Alabama on the road. What's Georgia's resume?

Gary Danielson just said he thinks Alabama is in no matter what. If they make it over an undefeated FSU or Shorthorns, the whole thing is rigged

If the pollsters gift Alabama with a playoff berth over Texas, who beat Alabama this year, there's no better indication how rigged this whole system is.
Every week a playoff indeed.

The SEC is rigged. Once you accept that truth, you will save yourself a lot of heartache
