The Alabama Crimson Tide are dealing with the fallout of Nick Saban’s retirement. While not an initial flood of players left the program, the numbers are growing. The program lost a huge piece today. All-SEC tackle Kadyn Proctor announced he is entering the transfer portal.

Alabama Loses OT Kadyn Proctor To The Transfer Portal
This is a huge loss for the Crimson Tide. As a true freshman, Proctor started every game for the team in 2023. He was named All-SEC and All-Freshman. The program was hoping they would have the tackle position locked down for a couple of years. New head coach Kalen DeBoer will have to find answers elsewhere. Proctor was the top overall tackle in the 2023 recruiting class and easily became the top prize in the transfer portal. He shouldn’t last long, as teams will clamor to get a top-tier tackle to solidify their line.
Numbers Growing
Proctor becomes the 26th player to enter the portal from the program. This isn’t necessarily a surprise, as many of these players came to play for Saban. Now that he is no longer there, players are looking to take their talents elsewhere. As of this moment, the Crimson Tide only have two returning offensive linemen from 2023. Quarterback Jalen Milroe needs to be protected and will likely have to work with an entirely new line.
Alabama is going through what all programs with a coaching change go through. However, that doesn’t make it feel good when the top players leave the program.
