A Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver admitted recently they cried after the New England Patriots passed them on draft night.

Per a video posted on Dov Kleiman’s account, A.J. Brown said on Barstool Sport’s “Bussin With the Boys” podcast that he wished the Patriots had taken him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Patriots passed over Brown to take N’Keal Harry.

Brown’s agent told him the Patriots would take a wide receiver, and Brown thought Bill Belichick would select him with the 32nd overall pick in the draft.

    That didn’t happen.

Brown left his house party when the Patriots pick was in, and he had not received a phone call.

“I left everybody at the house and went home and went in the closet and cried my eyes out,” Brown said.

#Eagles star WR A.J. Brown admitted he "Cried his eyes out" in a closest after the #Patriots passed on drafting in 2019 when they took WR N’Keal Harry instead.

A big mistake by Bill Belichick there..

Passing over Brown for Harry was another one of Belichick’s bad busts that hurt the team in the post-Tom Brady era. The 25-year-old wide receiver was traded to the Chicago Bears in 2022 before signing with the Minnesota Vikings this season. Harry has 714 receiving yards in his career and only five touchdown receptions.

Brown would have to wait until the 51st pick in the 2019 NFL Draft before the Tennessee Titans selected him. The Titans traded Brown to the Eagles on draft night in 2022.
