If Aaron Rodgers wants to play again, chances are an NFL team is going to sign him.
After being released by the New York Jets, the enigmatic former Super Bowl champion could have a handful of suitors, if he decides that he’d rather continue his playing career than start his own podcast or embrace an expanded role on the Pat McAfee Show.
Even after watching Rodgers become a bit of a circus sideshow over the past two seasons with the Jets, some teams caught in quarterback limbo this offseason could look to add the 41-yeard old fresh off a 3,897-yard 2024 season with 28 touchdowns to 11 interceptions.
Could the Tennessee Titans Sign Aaron Rodgers?

Pro Football Focus compiled a list of the best fits this offseason for the most quarterback-needy teams across the NFL, including linking the Tennessee Titans to signing Rodgers.
“The Titans need a spark, both on offense and as a franchise,” John Kosko writes for PFF. “No available quarterback carries more name recognition than Rodgers. Beyond that, he still played solid football in 2024. While his 76.3 passing grade was a step down from his prime years in Green Bay and his 4.2% big-time throw rate was the lowest of his career, he remained elite at protecting the football, posting a 1.8% turnover-worthy play rate.
“What Rodgers would bring to the Titans is stability at the game’s most important position, along with a legitimate chance to compete in a relatively weak AFC South. Tennessee could opt to start a rookie from Day 1 and let him take his lumps, but for a coaching staff looking for immediate success, relying entirely on a developmental quarterback might not be the preferred route.”

If the Titans are turning to Rodgers, something went horribly wrong in the NFL Draft, and free agency.
After all, Tennessee is set to pick No. 1 overall pick in this spring’s NFL Draft, with Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders as the top two quarterbacks in this year’s class.
Even if the Titans select Penn State dynamic pass rusher Abdul Carter over either quarterback, passing on the likes of Sam Darnold in free agency or missing out on trading for Kirk Cousins would each have to happen first before believing that Rodgers is the solution.
There is little argument that Tennessee could benefit from a jumpstart and infusion of excitement, but it’s debatable how much of either Rodgers is capable of providing, at least once the regular season kicks off.
