Ex-Jet Makes Prediction On Aaron Rodgers And Aaron Glenn’s Future

Aaron Rodgers might not be a part of new head coach Aaron Glenn’s Jets team in the next NFL season according to former Jets wide receiver, Keyshawn Johnson. The New Jets recently announced the hiring of Glenn as head coach, after Robert Saleh was let go after a disastrous season. Glenn has strong personal ties with the New York Jets team, after playing as a cornerback for about eight seasons.

Before this, Glenn was the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions, who he joined in 2021. With Glenn in their squad, the Lions finished the regular season at the top of the NFC North with a 15-2 record and most recently lost to the Commanders in the NFL Divisional Round.

“The Jets situation is phenomenal. They got players … He’s going to challenge his players just like he did as a defender. He will not start off his career with Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback in September. He’s not going to allow somebody to tell him what he’s doing.” Keyshawn Johnson said on FS1’s ‘Speak’ on Wednesday.

Despite several controversies surrounding the player, both on and off the field, Aaron Rodgers is still considered the star of the New York Jets by both fans and analysts. Still, the New York Jets were not so lucky in the previous NFL season and finished third in the AFC East with a disappointing 5-12 record. As QB for the Jets, Rodgers managed 3,897 yards in total, with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in the previous season.

Aaron Rodgers Might Be Chosen To Be Retained By Aaron Glenn As Per Michael Kay

On the other hand, there are also several rumors going around that Aaron Glenn might simply go ahead and keep Aaron Rodgers in the squad for the New York Jets. Sports broadcaster Michael Kay recently discussed this in a recent episode of his show, bringing much hope to Rodgers’ fans.

However, if Aaron Rodgers is looking for something more long-term with the New York Jets, he will definitely have to revamp his performance after putting up sub-par plays in the previous NFL season.

Glenn is known to be quite ruthless when it comes to training up his players, and will not put up with anyone’s antics on the field. While many fans of the New York Jets sided with Aaron Rodgers being retained in the team, some went on to question as to whether this would work well for the franchise in the long run.
