Going into the 2024 NFL off-Season the Dallas Cowboys knew these things about their Team.
- The Defense Couldn’t Stop the run. The Injury to Johnathon Hankins was a huge Problem, and they needed to get bigger in the middle of Both the Defensive line and maybe even more importantly the Linebacker position.
- Entire RB Group Never really got going. By not replacing the skillset of Ezekial Elliot and not having a Powerback/Short yardage RB that is also great at Pass-Protection on passing downs. The Dallas Cowboys Struggled to maintain possession . It didn’t matter if they were trying to extend keys drives or chew up the clock. It really hurt the offense and needs to be addressed.
- They are in need a True #2 WR. When Dallas wasn’t able to score early or found themselves going tit for tat with tougher teams found that they could double #88 and take him out of some key games. This goes hand in hand with Point #2 in terms of having a solid running game will open up the play action and keep teams from doubling Lamb. Although Brandon Cooks made a few splashes throughout the season and Fan Favorite Jalen Tolbert couldn’t quite do enough to get them where they wanted to be.
This Off-season has been relatively quiet as the only two signings have been Long-Snapper Trent Sieg and Veteran LB Eric Kendricks
There is plenty of time until the start of the year.
Dallas has already solidified the Linebacker Position. With Kendrick’s ability to stuff the run is going to help, but is it enough?
Here’s how Jerry Gets the last Laugh.
- Dallas already has a good enough roster to make the playoffs and may be a top 3 or 4 team in the NFC. However, they are very needy at very important positions so having a decent team only keeps them from drafting with a premium position in the draft.
- Get Dak Prescott’s Extension DONE That will lower the crazy Cap hit of nearly 60 Million and also frees up money to Do the following
- If Dak Gets Paid it will free up enough room to get Lamb’s Contract done which will also free up about 7 Million Dollars against this years cap.
- Take the 7 Million Saved from Lamb’s Deal and Sign AJ Dillon to a 1 year deal. and go and Grab a KJ Osborne or Someone similar.
- MUST HAVE A GREAT DRAFT. Dallas is relying heavily on the draft this year, as they will most likely be looking for at least 4, maybe 5 players that that will have to be successful starters that can be “plug and play” at their positions. Positions. That’s going to be tough considering that last years draft they didn’t end up with a single Starter for their respected positions.
If they Can pull off something close to what I’ve come up with, the Dallas Cowboys and More importantly the Front Office Should have a good team with a lot of Cap room going into next year.
