The 2024 NFL Draft is coming up in just over two months. Before we could get to that, we had to see the Senior Bowl play out for those athletes to have another chance to show off their skills. Well, one interesting quarterback prospect stood out among the rest.
Spencer Rattler Wins Senior Bowl MVP
South Carolina Gamecocks QB Spencer Rattler was awarded the Senior Bowl MVP. He only threw four passes in this game but made those passes count. He went 4/4 with 65 passing yards. Included was a 29-yard touchdown pass to Georgia Bulldogs WR Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint.
Spencer Rattler’s College Football Career
Rattler has had a roller coaster of a college football career. He originally started at Oklahoma, where he was projected to be a top quarterback prospect at that time. Well, it all came crashing down when Rattler was benched for the likely top pick in this draft. That quarterback is Caleb Williams.
This happened back in 2021. After that, the two went their separate ways. Caleb Williams went to USC and Rattler went to South Carolina.
While Rattler fell off after 2021, he did try to redeem his draft stock during this past season. So, how did he do? Rattler had 3,186 passing yards and 19 touchdown passes.
Now, Rattler hopes his Senior Bowl can get him drafted before Day 3. Right now, he is projected to be drafted in the fourth round.
