USC remains hot on the recruiting trail. The most recent addition to the Trojans’ 2025 recruiting class is swift wide receiver Romero Ison from Maryland.
Ison becomes the tenth member of USC’s 2025 recruiting class, which is now the third-highest-rated class in the nation, and rising.
USC Is Red Hot on the Recruiting Trail
The Trojans have recently landed several highly-touted recruits, and many of them, like Ison, are from States other than California. Here are the current members of the Southern California 2025 recruiting class:
- Justus Terry, DL, Manchester Georgia
- Julian Lewis, QB, Carrollton, Georgia
- Isaiah Gibson, EDGE, Warner Robins, Georgia
- Hylton Stubbs, S, Jacksonville, Florida
- Matai Togoa’i, LB, San Clemente, California
- Riley Wormley, RB, Colleyville, Texas
- Romero Ison, WR, Baltimore, Maryland
- Harry Dalton, RB, Dinwiddie, Virginia
- Daune Morris, ATH, Chattanooga, Tennessee
- Gus Cordova, DL, Austin, Texas
Romero Ison Is a Speedy Playmaker
Ison is described as a “playmaker.”
The Trojans already have a dynamic group of wide receivers, highlighted by true freshman All-American Zachariah Branch. Ison enhances the dynamism of this group.
USCFootball.com reports:
“Romero Ison visited USC during the weekend, loved everything he saw, hit it off with the coaching staff[,] and committed to the Trojans.
“However, … [he planned] to wait until his June 8 birthday to announce his decision, but the Baltimore City receiver told 247Sports Monday night he could not wait another two months and keep it quiet.
“So the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Ison announced his college choice Tuesday, making his commitment to the Trojans public and putting an end to his recruitment. It came after the Trojans offered in late January following coach Lincoln Riley’s visit to Baltimore City. He had 69 catches for 1,438 yards and 15 touchdowns, ran the ball 46 times for 465 yards and two touchdowns, returned 18 punts for 427 yards (23.7 ypr) and two touchdowns, and returned 13 kicks for 323 (24.8 ypr) and one touchdown.
Ison chose USC over Penn State and Pittsburgh, which were two of many schools that had recruited him.

The Trojans Look to Continue Strengthening Their 2025 Recruiting Class
Trojan head coach Lincoln Riley has brought multiple new coaches onto his staff, including defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn and defensive line coach Eric Henderson. These new faces have contributed mightily to the Trojans’ recent recruiting success.
Top defensive prospects recently visited USC, as the Trojans continue to trend upward on the recruiting trail. The coaching staff currently has its sights set on four-star defensive lineman Trajen Odum from North Carolina, among others.
Continued reporting on the Trojans’ recruiting efforts will be offered here at Gridiron Heroics.
