The New England Patriots honored legendary quarterback Tom Brady Wednesday and comedian Bill Burr was one of the people chosen to speak.
Burr, a comedian notorious for pushing the envelope, angered some fans with a joke that was made at the expense of legendary Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.

During his speech praising Brady and the Patriots for their dynasty, Burr took a shot at Reid saying they would never be able to accomplish the longevity of the Patriots.
Bill Burr: “There’s not a lot of certainties in life, but you won’t see another quarterback have a 20 year run – win 7 Super Bowls – like Tom Brady.”
Says it won’t happen with Patrick Mahomes “because Andy Reid is too fat.”

Reid is now the oldest head coach in the NFL after Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll were fired from the Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, respectively.
Reid would have to win four Super Bowls in the next six years to match Belichick in Super Bowl wins as a head coach by the time he is as old as Belichick is now. It would be impossible for Reid to have as many Super Bowls as Belichick had when he won his last Super Bowl (2018).
Fans took to social media to express how they felt about Bill Burr’s comments on Andy Reid’s weight

Burr, who is certainly not experiencing backlash about a joke he made for the first time, has angered a lot of fans after making a joke about Reid’s weight.
This time around the outrage may be based around team affiliation rather than fans being offended by the nature of the joke itself. Many fans had no issue with the joke and expressed the joy they received from said joke.

Soft joke. Andy Reid is a really cool guy. Should’ve gone after Kelce instead.

The Roast of Tom Brady featured many jokes considered more offensive than the joke made by Bill Burr

Many comedians made jokes based around Brady or his career at The Roast of Tom Brady in early May. Many of the jokes were considered far more offensive than the joke made by Burr.
References to former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, slavery and Brady’s ex-wife outlined an event that outraged many on social media.

Besides Ben Affleck’s manic meltdown, it was a great night of comedy and a legendary event. pic.twitter.com/daRFZv381Z

#BREAKING: TOM BRADY ROAST IGNITES CONTROVERSY
Netflix event sees sparks fly with Dana White’s sharp critique and Jeff Ross’s edgy jokes leaving Brady unamused. Star-studded panel including Kevin Hart and Kim Kardashian adds to the heat.#TomBradyRoast #Netflix #Tombrady pic.twitter.com/3ss38nbPPQ

Even more fans expressed how the roast made them feel via social media. The roast, which was featured on Netflix, was much more accessible than the speeches given at Tom Brady night which might account for a larger reaction via social media.
I started to watch the Tom Brady roast on Netflix. It was a terrible show featuring profane, abusive, offensive, & obscene language. I turned it off quickly after realizing it was full of smut. The world I live in is not the world I grew up in if this show is entertainment today.

I’m so confused by the people who found “The Roast Of Tom Brady” offensive. It’s a roast! My question to those offended is, have you never seen a roast? Maybe it’s not for you.

We tried to watch it… but OMG we were so disappointed.. Never heard such filthy language on Television!!!
