Marvin Harrison Jr. Projection in NFL
Harrison has been the consensus top wide receiver of the 2024 draft class since the start of the 2023 season. A few draft experts have recently placed LSU’s Malik Nabers ahead of Harrison because of his big-play ability vs. Harrison’s consistent play.
Todd McShay, an 18-year NFL Draft analyst, recently appeared on the Ryen Russillo Podcast and argued in favor of Nabers over Harrison. He stated that MHJ is one of the most pro-ready wide receivers he has seen coming out of college, but Nabers has a higher ceiling. If you are looking for the next Tyreek Hill or Justin Jefferson, Nabers has a better chance of playing that style of football.
In Harrison’s last two seasons at Ohio St., he had 144 receptions for over 2,400 yards. He also added 31 total touchdowns throughout his career. His route running is exceptional, his game is polished, and his NFL lineage gives him a frame of reference to prepare for what the NFL throws at him.
According to Yahoo Sports, “Harrison is currently the betting favorite to go to the Cardinals with the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. However, plenty can change between now, and the draft and Harrison thinks working out would be more likely to make his stock go down than up.”
Most people would still choose Marvin Harrison Jr.’s consistency over Malik Nabers’s potential, but either way, the NFL teams that land these two prospects will be happy.
