After losing Game 4 to Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, the Boston Celtics have finally vanquished their opponents in Game 5 to become NBA champions this year. Among the many personalities who paid tribute to them is NFL legend Tom Brady.
The Boston Celtics have captured their 18th NBA championship, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 4-1 in the Finals. In a dominant Game 5 performance, the Celtics closed the first quarter on a 9-0 run and never looked back, cruising to a 106-88 victory.
Led by the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Boston showcased their defensive prowess and sharpshooting ability. Brown, who was named Finals MVP, averaged an impressive 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5 assists over the course of the series.
The Celtics’ victory marks their first NBA title since 2008, capping off a seminal season that saw them finish with the league’s best regular-season record at 64 wins. With their stifling defense and efficient offense, Boston proved themselves to be one of the most complete teams in recent NBA history.
The Mavericks, despite the heroics of their superstar Luka Doncic, were ultimately outmatched by the Celtics’ well-rounded attack. Boston’s fourth-quarter dominance sealed the championship, solidifying their place as the new champions.
