The Boston Celtics are the new NBA champions after crushing Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in the recently concluded 2024 NBA Finals. However, New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson doesn’t seem to recognize the Celtics’ championship.
“NBA finals doesn’t count this year,” Wilson posted on X (formerly Twitter) after the Celtics claimed their franchise’s first NBA title since 2008 and 18th overall in team history.

Of course the Celtics’ title counts and is recognized as official by the NBA. And Wilson must have also known before pressing send that his post was going to face backlash over his wild NBA Finals take.
