As previously discussed on GH, Lonnie Phelps allegedly crashed into a restaurant:
A report from TMZ came out on Thursday that defensive lineman Lonnie Phelps was arrested on Wednesday night after cops say he drunkenly crashed an SUV into a restaurant and then refused to cooperate with a police investigation afterward.
Phelps was in Key West, Florida, and according to their police department, they were dispatched to a scene where a black Hyundai had crashed into the side of a restaurant.
Phelps was cited for DUI and property damage and is due in court for a hearing next month.
Photos that appeared on TMZ’s website showed an SUV crashed into a building.

Per a statement by the Browns on Thursday, the team announced they waived Phelps. Per the statement, the Browns signed Phelps as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 draft:
Phelps first signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent in May 2023 and spent the entire 2023 season on the team’s practice squad. He was then signed to a reserve/future contract in January 2024.
Phelps played college football at Miami (OH) and Kansas. Per First Level Media, the damages from the crash are estimated to be nearly $300,000.
