Ohio State knows a little thing or two about producing great wide receivers on and off the field, and the Buckeyes just produced maybe the best receiver ever to play the college game in Marvin Harrison Jr., who was just selected fourth overall by the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL Draft.
Not all receivers who come out of Ohio State can be like Harrison, and one former wide receiver had a rough day on Wednesday.
Corey Smith Jr. Was A National Champion At Ohio State
Former Ohio State wide receiver Corey Smith Jr. played at Ohio State from 2013-2016 and was part of the National Championship-winning team in 2014. Smith was A JUCO transfer who joined the Buckeyes in 2013, where he would redshirt and then saw game action from 2014 to 2016 but really never made a name for himself.
Smith would appear in 20 games in three seasons and bring in 31 receptions for 351 yards and zero scores. Football didn’t work out for the 31-year-old receiver, and now he has fallen on hard times because, on Wednesday, he was arrested for violating his parole.
Smith Was Arrested By The U.S. Marshal Service’s Apprehension Team
