A former Pittsburgh Steelers draft pick has been cut by the Detroit Lions after only one season with his new team following an arrest warrant issued this month. The Lions will lose a key player in the secondary who started in all 17 regular-season games during the 2023 season.

As previously discussed on GH by Connor Downs, Sutton is wanted by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for alleged charges of aggravated battery and domestic violence:
An arrest warrant has been issued for Detroit Lions cornerback Cameron Sutton. He is wanted for aggravated battery – domestic violence.
Sutton, 29, is wanted for aggravated battery – domestic violence. Sutton signed with the Lions in 2023 and was entering his second season with the team after previously being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Cameron Sutton was a 2017 third-round pick
The Steelers drafted Sutton in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Sutton started 39 games for the Steelers in six seasons and was a full-time starter on the secondary in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
