The 2024 NFL Draft is now just three days away. There has been much talk about the Las Vegas Raiders trading up for their next franchise quarterback. Here in this mock draft, we will see how having the Raiders trade up could affect the first round of the NFL Draft.
2024 Mock NFL Draft
1. Chicago Bears: QB Caleb Williams (USC)
After the Justin Feilds trade the Bears have a massive need at quarterback. Therefore, Caleb Williams seems like a lock to be the number one overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft.
2. Washington Commanders: QB Drake Maye (North Carolina)
Over the past few weeks, Jayden Daniels has been the favorite to be the number two pick to the Commanders. Since word came out that Daniels might not want to play in DC, the Commanders opt to go with Drake Maye.
3. Las Vegas Raiders (TRADE with NE): QB Jayden Daniels (LSU)
Reportedly the Raiders love Daniels so in this case they trade Davante Adams and a couple of firsts to move up and get him. The Patriots get a number-one receiver and tons of future draft capital by trading down.
4. Arizona Cardinals: WR Marvin Harrison Jr (Ohio State)
This situation works out perfectly for the Cardinals. They fill one of their biggest needs with a generational reviver in Marvin Harrison Jr.
5. Los Angeles Chargers: WR Malik Nabers (LSU)
This also works out great for the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers need to add a weapon for Justin Herbert, and they fill it with Malik Nabers. Nabers has been one of the best receiver prospects over the past couple of years.
6. New York Giants: WR Rome Odunze (Washington)
The run on receiver continues with the Giants and Rome Odunze. Odunze brings a different energy to the speedy New York offense as they commit to Daniel Jones.
7. Tennessee Titans: OT Joe Alt (Notre Dame)
Other than Caleb Williams to the Bears, Joe Alt to the Titans at number seven overall feels like an absolute lock. Left tackle is one of the Titan’s biggest needs and they can fill it with Alt.
8. New England Patriots (TRADE with ATL): QB JJ McCarthy (Michigan)
After a trade down and missing out on Jayden Daniels, The Patriots opt to trade back up to get their future franchise quarterback. The Falcons decide to trade down a couple of spots to gain some more draft picks.
9. Chicago Bears: EDGE Dallas Turner (Alabama)
With the top receivers off the board, the Bears decide to add a versatile edge rusher to pair with Montez Sweat and beef up their defense.
10. New York Jets: OT/G Tulisa Fuaga (Oregon State)
The consensus pick right now seems to be Brock Bowers to the Jets. Instead, the Jets opt to add Fuaga to play guard and even some tackle in case of injury.
11. Minnesota Vikings: CB Quinyon Mitchell (Toledo)
After not being able to trade up for a top quarterback the Vikings opt to keep their other first-round pick and select one of the best corners in the 2024 NFL draft.
12. Denver Broncos: QB Michael Penix Jr (Washington)
After releasing Russell Wilson, the Broncos are slated to start Jarrett Stidham. Instead, the Broncos select Michael Penix out of Washington to be their new starting quarterback.
13. Atlanta Falcons (TRADE with NE): EDGE Laiatu Latu (UCLA)
After trading back five spots with the New England Patriots, the Falcons select Laiatu Latu who they would have looked to draft a number eight. Latu is one of the best EDGE prospects in this year’s NFL draft.
14. New Orleans Saints: OT Olumuyiwa Fashanu (Penn State)
After lots of injuries, the Saints have a massive hole at offensive tackle. They can easily fill this with Fashanu who is a young tackle with lots of potential.
15. Cincinnati Bengals (TRADE with IND): TE Brock Bowers (Georgia)
With Brock Bowers starting to fall, the Bengals move up three spots with the Colts to select their new offensive weapon. Bowers is regarded as one of the best players in the 2024 NFL draft.
16. Seattle Seahawks: OT/G Troy Fautanu (Washington)
Another pick that seems to be a lock is Troy Fautanu to the Seattle Seahawks. Troy is a versatile offensive lineman who doesn’t have to move far to go from Washington to Seattle.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars: CB Terrion Arnold (Alabama)
After losing their number two corner the Jaguars opt to take a versatile defensive back in Terrion Arnold. Arnold should be able to play all over the field opposite of Tyson Campbell.
18. Indianapolis Colts (TRADE with CIN): EDGE Jared Verse (Florida State)
After trading back three spots and missing out on Brock Bowers the Colts try to get a superstar EDGE defender in Jared Verse out of Florida State.
19. Los Angeles Rams: DT Byron Murphy (Texas)
There are two top-tier defensive linemen in the 2024 NFL draft. The Rams take their pick of the two and go with Byron Murphy after the retirement of Aaron Donald.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers: OT Amarius Mims (Georgia)
Another pick that seems like a lock is the Pittsburgh Steelers selecting Amarius Mims. Mims is an athletic freak that is very raw but with the right development, he should be Pittsburgh’s starting tackle for the next ten years.
21. Miami Dolphins: DT Jer’Zhan Newton (Illinois)
Here the other top-tier defensive lineman goes to Miami. The Dolphins replace Christan Wilkins with another quick defensive lineman in Jer’Zhan Newton.
22. Philadelphia Eagles: CB Cooper DeJean (Iowa)
The Eagles have a massive need at cornerback heading into the 2024 NFL draft. They try to fill this by selecting Cooper DeJean who can play anywhere in the defensive backfield.
23. Minnesota Vikings (TRADE with HOU): QB Bo Nix (Oregon)
After not trading up and skipping on a quarterback at 11 the Viking’s risk pays off as they grab Bo Nix at 23. Nix should be able to sit for a year and become Minnesota’s next starting quarterback.
24. Buffalo Bills (TRADE with DAL): WR Brian Thomas Jr (LSU)
After a long receiver drought, the Bills trade up to make sure they can draft their next superstar receiver. Thomas is an athletic freak that should thrive with Josh Allen as his quarterback.
25. Green Bay Packers: OT/G JC Latham (Alabama)
It’s a little bit of a fall for JC Latham but he ends up here to the Packers at 25. The Packers get a big offensive lineman who should be able to play at either spot on the right side of the line.
26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: OG/C Graham Barton (Duke)
Graham Barton is a versatile offensive lineman which is exactly what the Buccaneers need. Barton can play almost any of the five positions but is expected to be a guard or center in the NFL.
27. Kansas City Chiefs (TRADE with ARI): CB Kool-Aid McKinstry (Alabama)
A little bit of an interesting move by the Chiefs to move up five spots. They have a large need at receiver, but instead decide to trade up to get their LaJarius Sneed replacement in Kool-Aid McKinstry.
28. Dallas Cowboys (TRADE with BUF): C Jackson Powers-Johnson (Oregon)
After a small trade back with the Bills, the Cowboys can snag the player they would have looked to draft a 24. Powers-Johnson is regarded as the best center in this year’s NFL draft and fills a huge need for Dallas.
29. Detroit Lions: WR Adonai Mitchell (Texas)
The Lions have a big need at cornerback, but instead opt to get another offensive weapon in Adonai Mitchell. With the loss of Josh Reynolds, the Lions need WR2/3 and fill it here with Mitchell.
30. Baltimore Ravens: CB Nate Wiggins (Clemson)
With Nate Wiggins falling down the board the Ravens decide to snag him here at 30th overall. Instead of getting some needs along the offensive line, the Ravens decide to get a new lockdown corner in Wiggins.
31. San Fransico 49ers: OT Tyler Guyton (Oklahoma)
After the Ravens passed on him the 49ers draft OT Tyler Guyton. Guyton is a young tackle who should be able to learn behind veteran Trent Williams.
32. Arizona Cardinals (TRADE with KC): OT/G Jordan Morgan (Arizona)
After selecting Marvin Harrison Jr and a trade down the Chiefs the Cardinals add to their offensive line with the final pick in the first round of the NFL draft. Morgan is a tackle that is projected to move inside to play guard in the NFL.
