Now that the NFL schedule has been released, analysts and fans can discuss their win-loss predictions for each NFL team in 2024.
Win-loss predictions can be based on offseason training and previous performance of the players and team. With stats, body stature, and field readability, one could use that information to infer their win-loss prediction.
Win-Loss Predictions for 5 NFL Teams in 2024
Atlanta Falcons
Unfortunately, the Falcons are a part of one of the weakest league divisions. The Falcons had the No.8 pick in the 2024 draft and they could have chosen an elite top defensive player to boost their defense ranking from last season. But, the Falcons chose to select quarterback, Michael Penix Jr. This addition of Penix really had fans and analysts alike scratching their heads as Kirk Cousins was just signed to a four-year contract of $180 million in the free agency.
With hopeful thinking, Cousins will come back fully recovered from his torn Achilles injury. If Cousins could make his comeback during Week 1, there is a chance he has the ability to lead the team to victory, especially in toss-up games where the Falcons are neither a heavy favorite nor an underdog. Analysts believe Cousins’ comeback will give the Falcons that rush of excitement and extra edge to push them toward success.
The Falcons record last season was 7-10. For the 2024 season, the prediction is 8-9.
Buffalo Bills
During the 2024 NFL Draft, the Bills were feeling risky when they let Gabe Davis go to free agency while also trading the elite Stefon Diggs to Houston. This questionable move only furthered the obstacles they will face this season as they have games facing the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and Detroit Lions.
When it comes to the passing offense, Buffalo most likely will not have a No.1 option. With that being said, the quarterback will have to do some adjusting. The defense is also questionable regarding figuring out how to fill the holes at safety. As Josh Allen tries to adjust with Stefon Diggs, the Bills could face a turbulent season.
Last year’s Bills’ record was 11-6. This year, the 2024 prediction is 10-7.
Arizona Cardinals
Last season did not get off to a great start for the Cardinals without starting quarterback Kyler Murray. Now that Murray is back to optimal health, the Cardinals hope to come out faster and more efficient this year.
With first-round picks like Marvin Harrison Jr. and the newly-acquired Zay Jones, the Cardinals are bound to break last year’s losing record. If they improve their pass rush on defense and learn to “close out games,” they will be on the path to many victories.
The Cardinals’ record last year was 4-13. For 2024, the prediction is 7-10.
Chicago Bears
With the No.1 overall draft pick, Caleb Williams, to the Chicago Bears, they secured the best quarterback potential in many years.
Although there is much excitement about the addition of Williams, last season’s record still indicates weakness. This is the Bears’ opportunity to restructure the whole team to achieve more victories. Since the Bears selected strong support players for Williams, his passing numbers should increase.
The NFC North, possibly the toughest division of the NFL, poses many challenges for the Bears as proven by past seasons. But fans, players, teammates, coaches, and analysts alike have big hopes for the Bears to have a strong season that sees them the playoffs.
The Bears record last year was 7-10. The prediction for this season is 10-7
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers are excited to have first-round rookie Xavier Legette and wideout Diontae Johnson. The addition of these two provides the safety, security, and cohesiveness that the quarterback needed and the team lacked. The Panthers are looking to initiate and maintain a balanced attack with their running game. This can be made possible by the addition of Robert Hunt and Jonathon Brooks.
The Panthers record last year was 2-15. The prediction for this year is 4-13.
