The Maryland Terrapins finished the college football season with a 4-8 record after losing to the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday by a final score of 44-7. Maryland will not be heading to a bowl game this season. The Terrapins were coached by Mike Locksley.
The Terrapins will have an interesting offseason ahead of them. Will Maryland make a change at head coach or will they keep him for another season?
Maryland Terrapins Fans Want Mike Locksley Fired After Regular Season Finale Loss Against the Penn State Nittany Lions
It was a rough season for Maryland football. Some fans want to see a change at head coach and maybe hire someone with more experience. Here is what some of the fans said after the loss against Penn State on Saturday:
We need a new coach, respectfully

until locks is removed as HC, i can’t give this program an ounce of care. it was bad when they even decided to hire him as HC… he legit gotta have one of the worst winning percentages all time

Send the NIL money to Basketball!

There was a point this season where fans would not fill up the stadium. The Maryland Terrapins need to have a different direction in the football program.
Potential Candidates
If the Maryland Terrapins decided to fire Mike Locksley as head coach this offseason, the first candidate that comes to mind is Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day. There is a chance that Day and the Buckeyes decide to part ways at the end of the season.
There could be some other candidates for the Terrapins as well. They have high school talent in the state of Maryland. Could former Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich coach the Terrapins? That is another name to potentially watch for since he played quarterback for them a long time ago.
